'THE BEST THING SINCE SLICED BREAD'

Emma's FMP

Emma wants to explore how landscapes are effected by the atmosphere, and how these landscapes can reflect different emotions. The atmosphere for these landscapes may be affected by different music and poetry. The final outcome will be a series of landscapes created using different methods and materials, with the same landscapes drawn in varying ways to convey diverse emotions. These will be hung in the gallery with space between the illustrations, so the audience can see the physical layers of the different emotional landscapes (some illustrations may be printed onto something transparent to get this effect ) whilst also submerging themselves into the landscape themselves.

REVIEW

An interactive artwork which looks into the relationship between our emotions and surroundings. A really interesting concept which I think will be executed beautifully through different colour palettes and printing techniques

Sophie's FMP (at time of the interview)

Sophie will be designing a range of greetings cards, for untraditional holidays and events. The cards will feature witty illustrations and a wide range of Sophie's skilled and unique typography skills. The illustrated envelopes will add an extra twist to the set of cards. Sophie may also experiment with paper art and specialist folding, looking into pop- up cards.

REVIEW

Highly intelligent and humorous illustrations that are presented through the vehicle of greeting cards. I think Sophie's cohesive and individual style will suit the type of humour featured, and I know she will create something that are not just cards, but piece of art.

I think this exercise was really beneficial for us, as we got to talk about our final  major projects thoroughly and were able to suggest different ideas for each other to explore. It also felt like good practice to be talking about our work out loud and over the next few weeks I think I will have a solid presentation for what I want my FMP to be.
